S/V 'LaDiala' is a Caribbean based 2014 FP Helia 44 Quatuor catamaran for sale by owner

This Boat Owner requires financial settlement only ... trades will not be considered!!

S/V “LaDiala” is a 2014 Fountain Pajot Helia 44 Quatuor cruising catamaran for sale by owner. She is an autonomous blue water sailing catamaran, well equipped for life aboard, long & safe ocean passages and for year-round cruises. This boat has been well maintained and had many upgrades in 2018.

We are a family with two children (4 and 6 years old) and started our journey in Croatia 4/2018 and sailed all the way to the US-Eastcoast. As planned our adventure will end by July 2020 for business and school reasons. We specifically upgraded LaDiala as a long-time live aboard vessel with emphasis on comfort and performance. We have enjoyed the well thought out systems which made the most of new technology while allowing a simplistic cost-effective maintenance routines. We have been very happy with the water maker and drinking only “our own water” for over 2 years.

As trained emergency doctors we paid particular attention to safety and redundancy – as evidenced by: second auto-pilot completely independent, upgraded emergency tiller, 2 MOB-hoisting systems, dual-bypass “SEPAR” fuel-filters (1 system per engine), stern beam/working lights, EPIRP, 7x PLB/AIS/MOB. The boat is equipped with all safety items required by the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, ARC, and easily passed the swiss registration procedure and a thorough third-party safety inspection by ARC-professionals before Atlantic crossing 10/2018. Last professional independent survey 4/2017.

FP Helia 44 Exterior Fly Around

Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 Cruising Catamaran

There are four double cabins and a bow compartment for 1-2 crew on port side. The boat benefits from a bright and modern light interior. There are cushions for the saloon, cockpit and sun-deck. The Cockpit-Bimini and all the sun shades are new as of 2018.

LaDiala is in very good condition and professionally maintained. She is spacious, robust, reliable and comfortable. She is easy to sail with good performance. The 11 ton displacement and deck-bridge clearance provide less wave impact on the bridge-deck compared to similar production catamarans. The Parasailor-spinaker or butterfly-sailing (sailing with Jib and Code-0) makes for an easy downwind sail. We never used the main sail in trade winds from Gibraltar to St.Lucia, Caribbean…..

The two powerful and reliable Volvo-Penta (VP) 55hp engines with 1500 total hours (3/2020), are well maintained by VP-certified mechanics according to Volvo-Penta recommendations with only VP-original parts and oil/coolant. The engines run perfectly with no black or blue smoke. With a combined 110hp they guarantee safety and are perfect for easy manuvering.

LaDiala/Helia 44 cruises currently in Puerto Rico (Marina Yacht Club Palmas del Mar, Humacao). Delivery to British Virgin Island possible. Not for sale in US-waters to an US-resident according to tax regulations unless US Import Duty due on the boat is fully paid.

She is ready to set sails and cruise the oceans. No major modifications are needed.
