SV Allergic to Cities is a Carib based 2004 Manta 42 catamaran for sale by owner.

This Boat Owner requires financial settlement only ... trades will not be considered!!

Our 42' 2004 Manta Mark II (hull #83) is an owner’s version model and is a very well appointed luxury sailing catamaran. Her general features include 3 staterooms with two heads. The owner’s hull incorporates the master Queen berth, electric freshwater head, pantry and walk-in shower. The starboard guest hull includes two stateroom and the shared bathroom. The primary berth is a queen, the other is a double.

These boats were built with first-rate construction using the vacuum bagged system. Hull, deck and bulkheads utilize a varying schedule of traxial, biaxial and unidirectional cloth applied with isophthalic and vinylester resins. Below the waterline, the hulls feature solid glass and vinylester; above the waterline and in the deck, Nida-Core polypropylene honeycomb reduces weight and increases stiffness and strength.

Power production is amply provided by either the 5.5kva NextGen generator, a powerful 760W solar array, or two new 65W Valeo engine-driven alternators (2018). House battery storage is handled within a powerful 6 AGM gel cell battery bank providing 1320 amp hours of power. Each engine also has a separate 12V starting battery.

Drinking water can be shore-supplied or can be quickly made by reverse osmosis from the 16 GPH Spectra Newport 400 watermaker and stored in the 100g aluminum storage tank. Drinking water is additionally filtered by a Seagull IV .01 micron filter at the galley sink.

Two strong Volvo 30 HP diesel engines (approx. 4000 hours each side) with Volvo saildrives provide the cruising power at 7 -8 kts. Each engine is equipped a Reverso oil pump for easy oil changes. New, heavy duty, motorcylcle style, air cleaners have been added to insure clean, efficient intake management.

Navigational electonics have been upgraded (2019) with a brand new 12" B&G chartplotter and B&G 3G radar. Additional nav equipment include Raymarine tri-data, wind speed/direction, and depth/water temperture gauges. The Raymarine auto pilot assists with offshore steering and guidance while taking the load off of the captain's need to hand steer. A new (2018) AIS system was added to assist in safely identifying surrounding yacht traffic by name, location, direction and size.

Travel to and from shore is a real pleasure in the new (2018) AB 10.5 foot VS10 RIB powered by a powerful brand new 20hp Yamaha 4-stroke electric start motor. The dinghy has been outfitted with center console steering with wheel and throttle controls, electrical shut off switch, ignition switch and navigational lights. Also installed is a handy electrically operated bilge pump so there is no manual bailing from rain or splashed water.

The communication system includes an iCom 710 SSB radio with Pactor II modem, one stand-alone Garmin GPS Map 478 chartplotter/AIS for redundant info feed, a Standard Horizon Matrix AIS plus GX 2150 VHS/AIS radio, an iCom ICM-34 floating handheld portable VHS radio, and a helm station mounted Standard Horizon Ram 3 VHS radio.

Perhaps one of the most appealing benefit of this yacht should be the inclusion to the wonderful network of dedicated and knowlegable Manta owners in the Manta Owner’s Forum. Daily emails from owners like you will be forthcoming to answer your Manta questions no matter how simple or difficult. This group is dedicated to keeping the Manta name in the top category of catamaran sailboats. The expertise availed never seems to amaze. We are currently knocking around the USVI and British Virgin Islands. Email us for our schedule.
