The S/V "Foxy Lady" is a 1985 Catalac 8M, Hull Number 188. She has twin Yanmar 1GM10 diesel engines. The sails are in good condition and set well. This boat has the optional Rich Beers Engine driven Refrigeration (starboard engine) which is a combination freezer and refrigerator. She also has on demand hot water in the head for hot showers with pressurized water pump. The owner is selling due to sudden health issues, and has not owned this boat for long. He has reported that he sailed her to weather in 30 mph of wind at 7 knots and she did just fine, and remained flat and fast. He's motor sailed across Albemarle Sound with the engines and genny and hit 8 knots on the GPS. |

The boat does need some TLC, The owner lives 600 miles away and has been unable to provide her with the care she properly needs. She was pulled and the bottom painted with 2 coats of Trinidad Ultima, ablative bottom paint in May 2011. At that time she also had an antifouling prop and shaft treatment done on both hulls. Both engines had their external oil lines replaced at haul out. The lines were replaced with new Yanmar parts and the lines were coated with West System epoxy to help with corrosion protection. Oil changes and maintenance have been performed by a qualified diesel mechanic in the Oriental, NC area. |

The owner did not have time in his boat ownership to test all boat systems, so he hasn't had the opportunity to use or even start up and try the refrigeration. This is why she is for sale, as he hasn't been able to visit or use his boat. He loves this boat and is very interested in finding her a new good home.
