The Catana Bali 4.5 was built to mark the 30th anniversary of the Catana Group. The aim was to attract a wider range of cruiser sailors by continuing using high quality building materials and processes while offering a reasonable price range. Poncin and designer, Xavier Fay, envisioned a catamaran with an “Open-Space” feeling throughout. To achieve this, they removed the trampolines, lengthened the forward cockpit to add a seating area and sunbathing area, added large vertical-sliding windows between the salon and forward cockpit with huge sliding doors onto the aft cockpit. This expands the living space literally from one end of the boat all the way to the other, uninterrupted on one level with great natural ventilation. It is really impressive and makes this 45ft cat appear so much more spacious than it’s competitors.Beyond the conventions, the BALI 4.5 Open Space is only innovation: panoramic vision, large front cockpit with removable tables and sunbeds, clean design and decoration, huge indoor and outdoor living spaces, unique autonomy for its category and for comfort in the sea and marine qualities.
