Designed by the famous Joubert-Nivelt firm of architects, the ORANA 44 is intended to be a comfortable ocean-going vessel. This design features a very low center of gravity for maximum security, with a large sliding window for direct communication between the saloon and cockpit and easy on-deck movement. This is the 4-cabin version, each with attached lavatory and separate shower room.
The helm position is elevated to starboard, and its three-seat steering station allows the helmsman to have company while combining all navigation controls, with excellent visibility over the roof. With the galley facing aft, a nav desk has been placed forward in the saloon, with a clear view toward the bows.
The cockpit opens directly onto both the saloon and the galley and has a large table and seating to easily accommodate 8 people. Most importantly, great performances with 110m² of sail, which would allow extensive sailing. Currently in Virginia, but on the way to Maine. Click on the link above for boat details.
