An ergonomic helm station at the coachroof bulkhead, offers many advantages including direct communication between the cockpit and saloon, improved circulation forward and aft of the helm station, direct access to the coach roof with easier access to the boom, a composite bimini with a sliding panel to ensure a good view of the sails, a closure panel for helm station safety when under way. The cozy cockpit, with smooth, elegant curves, a single level from the aft platform to the saloon ensures excellent use of space and ease of circulation on board, a large glazed door the entire width of the coach roof provides access to the interior. My wife and I took 5 friends down to Antigua this year to do some quantitative easing in that fine country. This review of our boat, the Lagoon 42, is based on my experience showing and moving them in Lauderdale as well as from this 7 day charter with Dream Yachts out of Jolly Harbor. Let me get this done with at the start. Lagoons are not the highest quality catamarans. They or as a close second to Fountaine Pajot might be near the bottom of quality for mass production catamarans depending on the model. But for what they lack in quality, they make up for in outstanding space and light inside.
