It is in Rochefort sur Mer, the very cradle of shipbuilding and naval architecture and birthplace of Pierre Loti, that Nautitech anchored its activity of construction of luxury catamarans. Anyone familiar with the world of multihulls can quickly appreciate the innovative nature of Nautitech, the first manufacturer to understand and define the very spirit of a catamaran. Nautitech were also the first to propose the concept of open living onboard, that combines the saloon and cockpit into one spacious, functional living area. Understanding how important sensations at the helm are to their customers, Nautitech places equal emphasis on sailing ability and comfort.
Nautitech was founded in 1994 as a department of the Dufour group. Then in 2002, Dufour did not want to make catamarans anymore, and Bruno Voisard, knowing well the Dufour catamarans for having managed a charter company in the French West Indies, took over Nautitech in September 2002 to develop the range with the idea of making rental boats with an owner’s spirit and above all, very seaworthy boats, slim and fast.
Nautitech was bought by Bavaria in 2014 following financial difficulties, and then sold again in 2018 to a private equity firm, Capital Management Partners, due to financial difficulties at Bavaria Group. In 2021, Nautitech has 200 employees, 80 catamarans built per year; 80% export worldwide, via more than 50 agents.
