Outremer catamarans are equipped with twin daggerboards which help them point to windward and when running, allows them to reduce their wetted surface and reach high speeds. Extremely strongly built, Outremer catamarans have been taken to high latitudes not often visited by cruising catamarans. Famous sailors and ex-racers have purchased Outremer catamarans and their followers hold these performance catamarans in very high regard.

Aboard S/V Alegria: A Carbon-Enhanced Outremer 51

Some boats are sold on the promise of what they could do. S/V Alegria is sold on what she has already done. In his full walkthrough of this 2017 Outremer 51, broker Mark Wattrus of Catamaran Brokerage introduces a carbon-enhanced, three-cabin owner’s version that has been prepared, sailed and maintained by owners with a circumnavigation behind them — and the itemized, labelled spares lockers to show for it. 2022 Outremer 51 ‘S/V HELIA2’: Ocean-Ready Performance Cat

Few production catamarans command the respect of the Outremer 51, and fewer still arrive on the market as thoroughly prepared for serious ocean miles as S/V HELIA2. Presented by Will Miller of The Multihull Company, this 2022 owner’s-version Outremer 51 is US duty paid and has already logged the kind of passages many buyers spend years planning — a Mediterranean season, an ARC Atlantic crossing, and extensive cruising through the Caribbean and US East Coast. What sets HELIA2 apart from a standard 51 begins in her structure.…

S/V HELIA2, a 2022 example listed by Will Miller, is a well-optioned version of that boat — and it shows exactly why Outremer occupies its own corner of the bluewater market. Light, Fast, and Genuinely Marine The core Outremer argument begins with weight.…

2022 Outremer 5X ‘S/V CYAN’: A 60-Foot Bluewater Cat

The Outremer 5X is the French yard’s flagship performance cruising catamaran, and S/V CYAN — a 2022 build — represents one of the most capable bluewater platforms afloat. Presented by broker Alexis de Boucaud, this 60-foot cat pairs Outremer’s signature light-displacement engineering with the accommodations and range voyaging couples and families expect for extended offshore passages. Built for Miles, Not Marinas The 5X is the boat Outremer owners graduate to when they intend to circumnavigate. Long, narrow hulls, a powerful sailplan and a helm philosophy that keeps the skipper connected to the sea state make her fast in light air and forgiving in a blow.…
