The Privilege 45 is a great looking well built model in the famous prestigious Privilege range built in Les Sables d’Olonne on the French Brittany Coast. She is a well tried and tested, safe, go anywhere world cruiser. You just cannot compare the quality of this model with other production brands.
The 45 actually has the same layout as the 42 but, being a longer and beamier boat, the cabins and engine rooms are larger than the 42. People love the galley down because it is very workable and has the advantage of not being visible to guests if the dishes are not cleaned right away. The engine rooms can be accessed via the cockpit; you don’t have to step out of the cockpit if the conditions are questionable and you don’t have to lift an after stateroom mattress. Straight drive shafts, not high-maintenance saildrives. The low cabin top profile reduces windage, not only under sail but at anchor.
