S/V Dora's Dream is a Shelter Bay Marina based 2013 Admiral 40 Catamaran For Sale By Owner
This catamaran owner requires financial settlement only. Trades will not be considered.

S/V Dora’s Dream is a very recent and extremely clean three cabin Owner’s Version Admiral 40 built by Celtic Yachts (previously known as Admiral Yachts) in South Africa, where she was put in the water in 2014.

She is currently in Shelter Bay Marina, Caribbean Coast of Panama. Showings can be set up with only a few days notice and if you choose to fly down and purchase Dora’s Dream, we will reimburse your travel expenses, flights and transportation.

Panama is an easy jurisdiction to purchase a boat in- no taxes, no headaches and very easy to fly too as well as some great sailing to get started- with an entry Covid exam ($50.00 per person), it is one of the easiest international locations to view your new boat.

This catamaran for sale by owner has a high level of comfort and has a wide beam and streamlined hulls to ensure she sails excellently, and her signature interior open layout gives you the feeling of an even larger boat.

S/V Dora’s Dream was never chartered and her first owners kept her in a marina in South Africa before they crossed the Atlantic by themselves to the Caribbean, where she was sold to an Austrian who spent a considerable amount of time and effort into readying her for long term, off the grid family blue water cruising.

The present owners have done an extensive amount of coastal cruising in and around the Caribbean coast of Panama and due to unforeseen circumstances related to Covid-19, are forced to send her on to new adventures.

Owned for a little more than a year by her present owners, a former Hotel Manager and business owner, Dora’s Dream was well taken care of and is presented as ‘like new’ condition- as they were living on her during quarantine for four months, which enabled them to perfect every detail.

Dora’s Dream has an incredibly roomy feeling with the open saloon layout, and the galley is truly the heart of the ship, imperative when cruising for any length of time. Most kitchens ashore do not enjoy the immense practicality of the galley on Dora’s Dream. The layout is the favored OWNERS VERSION. In the starboard hull, there is a King size master bedroom aft, a navigational station midships and large bathroom forward with full shower and an opportunity for a small bathtub. On the port side, there is an equally large aft bedroom, a guest bathroom midships with a full glassed in shower and a double berth guest cabin forward. The saloon table can be lowered and turns into a very large relaxing area or an additional king sized bed, perfect for the kids (or adults) to spend hours playing or simply lounging around and watching a movie.

Collision bulkheads forward separate the accommodation from the bow compartment. In the unlikely event of any collision, the safety bulkheads ensure that any potential damage or water ingress is contained. The boat can easily be single handed day and night and especially with the optimized downwind-setup can either be reefed or taken down very quickly by one person. With a total of six sails on board she is ready for any conditions. The current owners have only used two.

To keep maintenance and weight low there was consciously no generator added by the previous owners, however, there is enough room in the engine room to put one in.

The previous owners removed the hot water heater (calorifier) with all plumbing and wiring still in place, and the second isotherm refrigerator is disconnected, making Dora’s Dream totally energy self-sufficient with her upgraded 800 watts of solar and 900 amps house battery bank.
On night passages all instruments, autopilot, radar and AIS combined only use approximately 5 amps per hour. The current owners have installed a new AIS, Radar instruments, Raymarine Masthead wind instruments, new 12” Raymarine chart plotter and new Victron invertor/charger Multi-plus 3kW for electronics.

The boat is offered for sale due to the current owners having additional business interests that need added attention during and the pandemic. The boat has been meticulously maintained and is optimized for long term cruising and is in amazing condition and will be missed!

This is an awesome catamaran with a lot of personality and is set up for her next owners to enjoy her for years to come!
