S/V Springbok is a Miami Beach, FL based 1983 Catalac 8M catamaran for sale by owner. For those who are not familiar with these boats, the Catalac 8M is a very comfortable pocket cruising catamaran. They are a pleasure to sail and are comfortable in all types of weather, which is unique in a truly affordable cat.
The accommodation is spacious and bright with lots of stowage. These are a very light and roomy boat for its size, with 6 ft 3 inch headroom in both hulls, and a sheltered steering position. Their cockpits are larger than most 37 ft catamarans as they can comfortably seat 10 people. With of her draft at 24 inches, it’s possible to go into smaller and shallow lakes, coves and tropical islands ignored by monohulls.
S/V Springbok is a very clean Catalac 8M. Built in Christchurch. She is an exceptionally safe and stable sailing boat which you’ll find in excellent condition with little in need of attention. The sails are in great condition and set well. The hull has been recently epoxy coated and painted. The topsides have new white Awlgrip and new rub rails. Catalacs age gracefully, and this boat is a good example. A much loved and well maintained boat throughout its life.
Her overall size is 8m length x 4.1m width. She has 1 x Tohastu 20 HP outboard. Comes with a 9.5 ft Flexboat dinghy.
This is a great family cruising or single handed boat (set up for easy single handed sailing with controls led to cockpit). Boat must be seen.
