Umnyama is a Corinth based 2016 Catana 42 Owners' Version Catamaran For Sale By Owner
This Boat Owner requires financial settlement only ... trades will not be considered!

S/V Umnyama, our Grenada based Catana 42 cruising Catamaran will be for sale by owner beginning July 2020. Umnyama means Rainbow in Xhosa, the South African language of Nelson Mandela, and was built in France in 2016 and since then, we – a Dutch couple of 60+ – are sailing around the world.

S/V UMNYAMA is an Owners Version, and is ready to go right now, with all the amenities you need: generator, watermaker, double autopilot, washing machine, gennaker, Parasailor, Iridium antenna, radar, AIS, WiFi router, et cetera… We sailed the boat conservatively, often with only head sails – sailing around the world is mainly downwind – with boatspeeds of max 15 knots and with max windspeeds of less than 40 knots. But with less than 670 liters of water and 430 liters of diesel, and with less than all the junk we carry, you might go faster indeed…

The cutting edge of recreational sailing construction, the infusion process and the use of carbon are now standard on all models. Powerful, hardwearing, yet light, the Catana 42 is a high-performance boat which reaches speeds of 20 knots before the wind and no fewer than 8 knots close-hauled, ensuring its passengers an unbeatable level of safety and comfort.

Leave the port and set sail for the open sea. Every single detail has been carefully designed to allow you to enjoy the incredible thrill of high speed at sea in complete safety, whether you are making a short trip to a little island nearby, or crossing the world’s greatest oceans.

The Catana 42 truly is the ultimate experience of speed and comfort. Inside, it has an incredibly spacious interior with a 360° panoramic view. With direct access to the cockpit, its salon, fitted with generous storage space, is the living hub of the boat.

Quality materials, light-filled cabins, perfect ventilation, excellent bathroom design, thermal and audio insulation come together to make life on board easier and more comfortable. Now you can sail through high-speed journeys and stormy seas, effortlessly.

The ease of movement and the extreme smoothness of the steering system are also there to help you easily maintain the speed of your Catana 42, in all weathers.

The shape of the floaters and the option of lifting the daggerboards in heavy weather give your Catana 42 a much higher standard of safety than other catamarans.

With its original daggerboard system, your Catana 42 is also capable of tacking at a good speed, sailing on course in the roughest seas and reaching the closest port when a storm is approaching.

The Catana 42 is the only boat of its size that can maintain high average speeds, whatever the points of sail or weather conditions.

The Catana 42 displays the true essence of Catana: all the exclusive, technical innovations of the brand in an outstanding catamaran measuring 12.58 metres in length. The owner of this catamaran, will truly benefit from the exceptional Catana know-how.

The boat is like brand new, well maintained and after three years all problems of buying a new boat were solved. Since you are interested in a Catana 42, you will know all the details of this fast performance catamaran.

We are presently in South Africa, just having crossed the boisterous Indian Ocean. If all goes well we hope to complete our circumnavigation by mid 2020, in the Carribean. The boat will be laid up in Grenada Marine for the hurricane season. Then we want to sell the boat, starting other adventures.
