S/V Ocean Lady is a 2013 Catana 55 Carbon Infusion catamaran, for sale by broker.
OCEAN LADY is a rare Opportunity to purchase only 1 of 5 Catana Carbon Infusion 55 built. The Catana 55 was based on the popular Catana 50 model with a 5′ hull/deck extension from the mast bulkhead forward. As a result the foretriangle is 5′ longer for larger self-tacking Solent (Jib) and other larger headsails. In addition the Catana 55 has a lightship weight 2+ tons lighter than the great majority of Catana 50 built due in part to added carbon and being resin infused.
Catana catamarans are the exception to the rule, as they specialize in semi-custom boats built with input from their future owner. In addition these are high performance cruisers. Each boat is built with carbon fiber in the inner skin and the SCRIMP resin infusion process.

Construction
- Three-part mould with joint surfaces at the keel connections.
- Nacelle mould and inner half-hulls in one part for greater rigidity.
- As for many years, the hull is made of Sandwich foam infusion, Vinylester resin and polyester resin. It is reinforced with Aramid fibre reinforcements using the Twaron Impact process and, above all, in order to optimise weight, certain parts of the hull have been designed to be more rigid.
- To optimize weight, certain zones are now 100% Carbon, such as the Chainplate zones, omega stiffeners and the mast step area.
- The deck is also constructed from Sandwich foam infusion with CP/Monolithic Sandwich reinforcements.
- From Many areas are made entirely of carbon fibre, such as the coachroof, coachroof reinforcements, deck omegas, mast foot area and mast sponge.
- The main structural bulkheads are now made entirely of infused foam/carbon sandwich. For greater solidity, the routing of the doors and technical passages is integrated and reinforced during the infusion of the bulkheads.
- The hull / deck / bulkhead connections are made by bonding and structural cornering locally in 100% carbon fiber, as for the bulkheads, floors and spandrels.
- The entire hull/deck envelope is a single-piece, dimensionally stable structure with exceptional rigidity and
