S/V Onipa’a is a 1987 Lock Crowther Super Shockwave catamaran for sale by owner. Built by Mike Bell at Offshore catamarans in Florida. Divinycell, epoxy, biaxial cloth and kevlar construction, 43′ long and 24′ on the beam, daggerboards, shaft drives, feathering props. Ballenger spar, with like new dacron main and jib, 2nd laminate main, serviceable but tired. There is also a large assortment of headsails/spinnakers with a Colligo continuous furler for the screecher/gennaker and asymmetrical spinnaker.

2 beds in each hull, double forward and large single aft, port side has a small head/shower midship, and a 2nd head in the port bow locker. Galley has a large fridge/freezer, 2 burner stove and oven, double stainless sink, big galley table that converts into a queen bed. Spectra Ventura water maker, a hardtop bimini with 340 watts of solar and setup for rain catchment keep up with the fridge/water maker power demands.

She sails very well in all conditions, especially in light air where she is capable of reaching wind speed . Onipa’a has been well tested and proven in Hawaiian offshore waters.

She can easily be sailed into the teens, with speeds into the low 20’s being achievable. The bridge deck cabin with its large pop-top is a dream at anchor, providing plenty of ventilation and space for entertaining.

Already located in paradise on the island of Maui, Hawaii, she needs some TLC but is totally worth it.
