S/V Colibri is an Owners’ Version 2013 Fountaine Pajot Lipari 41 catamaran, for sale by owner. “Colibri” means hummingbird in many languages, including French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Polish, Portuguese and many more.  She is light, nimble, and beautiful.

Colibri has undergone extensive modernization and upgrades. This a boat that is at home on the hook, dockside, or underway.  Colibri has a slip in San Diego that you can take over – a rare find for catamarans in California!

It is an excellent sailing boat and comfortable to be on while offshore or at anchor. It is easily sailed single-handed as all lines lead back to the helm which has an electric winch. The helm can be fully enclosed in the event of inclement weather. The dodger includes a unique glass pane for improved visibility.

Instrumentation includes a new (2021) Raymarine Axiom Pro, 3 i70 displays and RAM mic., as well as two USB outlets and two 120v AC outlets at the helm.  There is also a new 12-inch Raymarine Axiom touchscreen display at the nav station as well as a fourth i70 display and the autopilot remote, satellite phone, Xantrex volt meter, Magnum inverter controller and controls for the Northern Lights generator.

The comfortable cockpit is covered by a hard top and provides ready access to the stern and side decks. There is a custom boarding ladder on the port side with a ladder extension to make getting onboard the sugar scoop easy.

A full sun/bug enclosure for the cockpit is included.  It is made of high-quality Sunbrella fabric and webbing with stainless steel snaps and clasps.  Fits like a glove and offers privacy as well as protection from the elements.

The foredeck has bow seats and a comfortable trampoline completely redone by Sunrise in 2018. Wiring is already in place to add foredeck speakers to the existing sound system which has two existing speakers in the salon and two in the cockpit. The 73 lb Vulcan anchor, windlass, freshwater wash down, 210 feet of chain, plus 150 feet of rode, Mantus bridle and spare Fortress anchor are housed in the deck locker along with a Northern Lights Generator. There is ample room for fenders and lines. A mooring bridle is also provided in addition to the Mantus anchor bridle.

The comfortable salon boasts an ENO three burner propane stove, stainless double sink, oven, isotherm freezer (convertible to refrigerator with digital thermostat), piano-style refrigerator, Toshiba flat screen TV, Fusion Bluetooth stereo with Sirius XM satellite radio, ample storage, Axiom Pro 12″ monitor at the nav station, plus Raymarine i70 monitor and remote auto-pilot allows for indoor control and monitoring, 12 volt fans, plentiful 120 volt, 12V and USB outlets. The salon has its own CruiseAir reverse cycle AC unit providing either cool air or heat if needed.

In this Owners’ Version, there are three queen berths. One to starboard which is the owner’s side. Two to port with a shared head. The port bow has a single berth with a port hole, hatch to the deck and reading light and fan. The starboard bow locker only has access from the owner’s head and has plenty of storage. That is where the Rainman AC water maker is mounted with two high capacity membranes that produce 170 liters of fresh water per hour.

The starboard hull is the private owner’s suite. There are 120V and USB outlets, fans, ample closets and drawers for storage, a queen-size berth with memory foam topper, reading lights and opening ports. There is a dedicated CruiseAir reverse-cycle AC unit that cools and heats. The bathroom has a fresh water vacuflush head installed in 2018 at which time all sanitary hoses were changed and upgraded. There is a monitor for the holding tank. There is a standup shower area. A solar/battery exhaust fan keeps the area fresh and cooler. Forward there is a bow locker with the watermaker and fishing rod storage, and hooks for line storage.

The port hull houses a guest cabin aft that is virtually identical to the master cabin. There is a hanging locker and shelving. Midship there is a bathroom with new (2018) vacuflush fresh water head, new hoses and tank monitor. Forward there is another queen size berth with multiple storage areas. The bow cabin is outfitted with a mattress, porthole and reading light. There is a separate reverse cycle AC/heater for the port hull.

All standing rigging was replaced in 2018 with US-sourced (Hayn) product. All running rigging was also replaced at that time. The sails were inspected in 2019 and have been well cared for (always covered when not in use) and the UV cover on the jib was restitched and patched in 2019.  Colibri includes an asymmetrical spinnaker that really makes her fly.  It can be deployed via the included sock and sails comfortably between about 100 – 180 degrees from the wind.

The two Volvo D 1-30 engines were replaced in 2018 due to EPA recall. The sail drives were serviced at that time and new seals were installed in 2023.  There are currently about 1500 hours on both. Ample spares on board including zincs for the Volvo folding props, which include line cutters on the shafts. The sail drives were refinished June 2020.

The electrical system was upgraded in 2018, and all new AGM house batteries were added in 2023 for a total of 5 house batteries at 600Ah, plus a separate starter battery and another for the generator.

A semi-custom aluminum stern arch (the best we’ve seen on any other catamaran) was installed in 2018 with 990 watts of solar panels on three Victron controllers that include Bluetooth controls. The boat is self-sufficient at anchor with no need to run the generator except to make water as long as there is sunshine. There is a 50′ 50 amp shore power cord and shore power adapter (2×30 amp to 50 Amp). The stern arch also has a set of dinghy davits for redundancy. It also serves as a mount for the Starlink satellite dish.  It used to (and could again) hold the included dome for the Sailor satellite phone.

Electronics include autopilot remote, Sirius XM Satellite radio and weather receiver, AIS transceiver, ultrasonic speed transducer with depth and temperature. A clever addition is the streamlined storage container on the hardtop which provides a great place to store dive gear and water toys.

Included with Colibri comes a 10′ 6″ AB aluminum dinghy with new (2021) custom Sunbrella chaps and vinyl cushion, 15 HP electric start 4-stroke Yamaha, stainless steel dinghy swim ladder, anchor, locks and cables, bailing pump, navigation lights and oars, plus spare gasoline storage. The 6-person Viking life raft is included though it missed its last inspection which was due May 2020.  Also included is a Jordan series drogue. 5 offshore inflatable life vests and harnesses are negotiable.

Colibri was built in La Rochelle France and is fully imported to the USA.  Available for sale in San Diego, CA July 2023.
