SV Quazami is a 44 foot Kynsna and like many South African built catamarans, such as Leopard 440 and Voyager 440, is a solid built boat. It has recently been surveyed and in sail away condition, equipped for the cruising lifestyle and ready for blue water crossing, for sale by owner. She was extensively upgraded in 2021 and then sailed from South Africa to Brazil and then onto the Caribbean in 2022 by the current owner and his family of 5, who comfortably live aboard.

With 1190w of solar, Quazami is energy self-sufficient and can be taken to remote locations, without the need to ever go into marinas. She can comfortably sleep up to 7 people. Quazami has only ever had two owners and has never been in charter.  Recent survey available on request.

Designed by renowned naval architect Angelo Lavranos, one of the pioneers of the light construction technique for racing yachts, the Knysna 440 is an improved version of the legendary St Francis 440 and has a similar look to a Leopard 440. She has been built to a high standard by the Knysna Yachting Company, who prides itself on its reputation within the industry for producing high quality, fast yachts that are able to safely and comfortably cross oceans. Deliberately keeping production numbers low enables Knysna to pay attention to detail without ever compromising on safety.

Some examples of this attention to detail include:
• The prismatic shape of her hulls enable her to glide quickly and effortlessly through the water, similar to a voyager 440.
• The mid ship engines mean the heaviest objects are at the centre of the yacht, helping to minimise hobby horsing and making it great to manoeuvre under power.
• The Resin Scott Bader Airex foam core means the hull is both strong and light weight, whilst the low freeboard reduces windage and side slipping.
• The sharp, elegant bows are reinforced for structural stiffness, especially desirable in the punishing Southern Ocean.
• The stiffness is over-engineered with a massive cross-deck section and longitudinal double beam spreading from mid-ships to the bow and separating the two trampolines.

The Knysna Yacht Company is based in Knysna, (the K is silent), famed for the dangerous entrance to the lagoon known as the Knysna Heads, and being situated on the East Coast of South Africa on the Indian Ocean.  These yachts are tried and tested in some of the world’s most challenging sea conditions. Quazami is a performance catamaran and her sailing abilities have been tried and tested again and again, having safely crossed the Atlantic Ocean nearly two years ago and then cruised around the Caribbean since, from Grenada all the way up to the Bahamas.  She is a good sized catamaran, suited to long range cruises and blue water operations, whilst offering comfortable living space on board.

This blue water catamaran is well suited to a sailor interested in long travels.  Her light weight and large complement of sails enable her to move with speed through the water in a variety of wind conditions, and her 1 metre draft enables her to go in shallow water.  Climb aboard and her energy self-sufficiency, and onboard water maker, will enable you to visit the most remote locations.
