S/V Meraki is an exceptionally maintained 2016 Lagoon 450S (SporTop) with an owner’s cabin layout, never chartered. She has crossed the Atlantic, cruised the Caribbean, The Bahamas, the New England coast and Nova Scotia. As the current owners are ready to go ashore to help with family matters, she is being offered with an extensive list of cruising equipment, toys and spares. She is ready to take her new owners on their cruising adventure.

Updated May 25th – We had an on-the-hard insurance survey done earlier this week and a notable note was in the section VESSEL CONDITION & VALUE
Condition rating: ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION
Estimated fair market value: $650,000
Estimated replacement new cost: $841,500 (BUC Book)

NOTE: The overall vessel condition and value was established after a complete inspection
of stated vessel, the results of which are included in this report of survey. The
estimated fair market value and replacement cost includes all listed auxiliary
equipment. See “Condition & Value Summary” section for additional details.”

Meraki has been configured and upgraded to provide safe cruising in out of the way places. She has been predominantly at anchor, supported with a generous 1440W solar panel array, 1200 AH lithium battery house bank, 100 lph (26 gph) watermaker, 700 L (185 gal) of fresh water stores, two 3000 watt inverters (115 and 220V), 300 ft of 7/16″ G4 anchor chain and an 85 lb Mantus anchor. Her dual 57 HP Yanmar diesel engines, each with 137 gallon fuel capacity, provide an extensive cruising range.  All equipment upgrades were done with reliability in mind. With a draft of only 4.5 feet she is configured to explore the islands, or cross the oceans.

Meraki’s navigation and communication equipment is best in class. Comprised of B&G’s sailing centric components with a 12″ chartplotter, two informational displays, and autopilot controls in the fully enclosed helm. The interior navigation station has duplicate components and enables full navigation capabilities from the salon. The hardtop helm is a starboard offset steering position, allowing direct access to both the cockpit area and the main deck. The 450S’s cabin top configuration provides easy access to the boom and sail bag and visibility of the mast/sail via the helm top window. The 450S-style helm’s value is demonstrated in the easy access and communication it enables between the navigator, at the helm, and the crew, stationed in the main level’s cockpit, galley or salon. This becomes notable during extended multi day passages where engagement and communication between the crew is most critical to a safe and enjoyable transit.

The interior of the Lagoon 450S is spacious. The Lagoon 450 series is known for its thoughtful layout, exceptional headroom (6’ 4”), and various comfort facilities. The starboard hull is fully allocated to the owner’s cabin, while two guest berths are allocated to the port hull. Each of the three berths have queen sized beds, ensuite half baths, and generous storage. The galley is u-shaped with a good amount of counter space, a large single tub sink, with a premium faucet, and propane 3-burner stove and oven. There are two refrigerators and one freezer conveniently located in the salon and cockpit.

Meraki’s primary off-boat transport is a Highfield 3.4m (14.5 ft) hypalon dinghy with a center console and a 20HP Honda outboard with electric start. An anchor with chain and rode are stored in the bow locker, while the compartment under the seat provides for secure storage of a spotlight and emergency equipment. It comes with a 3 gallon primary fuel tank and 1.5 gallon spare tank. This configuration enables comfortable passage for up to 5 people to dinghy docks, unique dive locations around the islands, and exploration of island tributaries in search of rays, turtles and sharks.

The features and equipment offered with the purchase of Meraki are thoughtfully compiled to enable the purchaser to immediately begin their cruising adventure. She has been a joy to sail and a safe and comfortable platform from which to explore the ocean environments and island life. She is ready for your adventure.

Meraki is offered for sale.  She is currently at Zimmerman’s Marina in Cardinal, Virginia.
