S/V Paradise Found is a 2008 Lagoon 500 Catamaran for Sale by Owner. She is currently located in Isla Mujeres, Mexico and being sold in the US. We will sail back to the east coast of South Florida unless buyer has other arrangements.

You’ll be hard pressed to find another Lagoon 500 with as much thought put into off-grid sustainability. Paradise Found, is the ideal sailing catamaran for the full-time live aboard not wanting to be constantly connected to shore power or have the generator running all day. She has the capability to handle both 50hz/60hz shore power when needed, which allows you to sail or dock anywhere in the world. This system was thoughtfully designed by marine engineers with 20+ years of experience. We have been cruising the east coast of Florida, Bahamas, and Mexico. Since Upgrading to new solar and batteries the generator has rarely been used.

Just installed in November 2021 is an impressive 1200 AH LifePO4 battery power system sufficient to run every thing on the boat (i.e, watermaker, water heater, and more) without being plugged in or have the generator running, this even powers the owners suites AC unit to allow for comfortable sleeping all night with no generator noise. The vessel can run indefinitely off solar with all fridge/freezer/ icemaker/lights and a dehumidifier going, in the event you need to leave it unattended for a while.

At the core of the system is all Victron Equipment, mainly 2 Victron 3000 Multiplus’s which power a 1200Ah LifePO4 (1200A @12v) battery bank. A 1.5KW solar arch was installed on the aft (Currently holding a 6×18’ swim mat above the dinghy).

Adding in the existing 1.5KW of solar the boat originally came with, she has an impressive 3KW of total solar power. On a sunny summer day, you can expect to see full charge all day. 9 solar panels in total are matched to 3 Victron Smart MPPT solar controllers.

This system was also designed so that in the event the generator does have to run (if it’s been cloudy too long), you’ll have the ability to charge the boats batteries at a rate up to 240A an hour and, counting the solar, we’ve seen an excess of 400A/hr on a sunny day with the generator going, ensuring your batteries are topped off in no time and you can quickly get back to peace and quiet without the rumble of the generator.

The boat also comes with a full set of covers for covering the helm electronics, steering wheel. The aft cock pit and fly bridge both have sunshades , (the solar arch is also great for this). The dingy also has protection from the UV rays due to the solar arch placement directly overhead.

You’ll also find bins and bins of spares (all conveniently stored in gasket sealed Milwaukee boxes in engine rooms), about $5k or more worth, making this boat truly ready to hop on and cruise. Alongside the more common spares you’d expect to see (i.e. oil/fuel filters, belts, extra oil, gear oil, etc.) is a spare, waterpump, custom pump to drain engine oil, bilge pumps, wash down pumps, Watermaker filters (an additional Clark pump for watermaker needing rebuild) Fuel Pump for generator, impellers for engines and generator, the list goes on.

Paradise Found is truly ready to hop on and sail away, just provision and head out. Current 4 burner stove / oven with bottom broiler for cooking large meals. Current owners are selling to start planning for their next vessel, upgrading to a larger catamaran, for their circumnavigation.
