S/V Kaya is a Leopard 40 Owner’s version Catamaran for sale by owner. This 2009 Leopard 40 Owner’s version with a owner-dedicated hull was designed by the now famous team of Morrelli and Melvin. S/V Kaya was built in Built in Cape Town, South Africa by Robertson and Caine in 2009. These boats are light and fast. The ligher weight allows her to ride easily over waves and her sharp bows and clean underwater profile cut cleanly as well as minimize drag. Visibility is excellent over the coach roof and a sliding door in the hard cockpit bimini makes it easy to keep track of sail shape.
The 3 cabin owners version provides considerably more space in the master suite aft, an office area amidships, and a voluminous bathroom forward that includes a huge shower with standing and sitting room for two!
She was very recently refurbished to virtualy-new condition. Launched by Robertson and Caine in 2009 this Leopard 40 has never been chartered and has been for private use only since new. Featuring three double berths and a generous entertainment saloon with monstrous deck space for sun-lovers and air-conditioned interior. Navigation and safety equipment to take you safely anywhere. Auxillary power: twin 29HP Yanmar inboard diesel engines, both rebuilt within the last year. Registered in the UK.
The Leopard 40’s speed on the water and easy handling are its top features, earning it “Boat of the Year 2005” from Cruising World and SAIL magazines. The designers, Morelli and Melvin, are known for producing solid cruising boats. Despite having smaller engines, Sea Monster averages 6-7 knots whether under sail or power, though higher speeds are often achieved! The helm seat position keeps the captain feeling like they are part of the action whether it be lively cockpit chatter or close proximity to the galley while underway. Sliding doors allow for indoor/outdoor living in paradise.
The galley-up design incorporates a spacious saloon and aft facing galley with a cocktail bar and serving window overlooking the cockpit. The entire owners ˜wing” can be discreetly closed away, creating complete privacy and the luxurious feeling of being able to roam undisturbed while guests or children enjoy the rest of the boat. Guests will enjoy the large cockpit with outside dining area, protected by a functional hard-top bimini, fitted as standard.
