S/V Isabella is a 2001 Maine Cat 30 Catamaran for sale by owner. She is  Hull #28 and is a one owner boat. Currently on the hard in Norwalk CT.

The Maine Cat 30 is a simple live aboard cruiser for weekend getaways or the cruise of a lifetime. Known as the Swiss Army Knife of Pocket Cruising Boats she is built from the highest quality marine materials which produce a strong, yet lightweight composite.

The master stateroom berth located on the starboard side is 56″ wide and 6′–8″ long with a 4′ overhead above the mattress. Amidships is a counter and dresser with a solid cherry hanging storage cabinet above. Outboard of the daggerboard trunk is the hanging locker. The head is huge with a Lavac toilet, 20 gallon holding tank, vanity, sink and shower with pressurized water.

The port hull has a good size single berth forward that is 44″ wide and 6 Ft 8 inches long. You’ll find the galley amidships with a double stainless steel sink, 12-volt refrigerator and two Princess propane burners are included. Aft is a table that may be used for dining or as a navigation table with an overhead cherry cabinet. This table also converts to a second double berth the same size as the master berth.

Twin easy maintenance Yamaha 9.9s with manual tilt and trim with new water impellers. Plenty of seating for when friends and in-laws come by. Yeoman Chartplotter with input to NX2 server and VHF radio, usable from chart table or bridge deck table. Can send waypoints to GPS with the press of a button.

The Maine Cat 30 is no longer in production. Sadly, because it is a perfect coastal cruiser for a couple or family. It is a brilliant design. Large catamarans have a sleek look, even with the hard shell that separates the inside from the outside. But below 35 feet or so, catamarans look strange and seem awkward.

The ME30 solves this with an open bridgedeck design, with enclosures that provide protection from the elements, without interfering with sailing and operating the boat.

Cruising cats get the best performance when kept light. This boat isn’t dogged down with hundreds of pounds of add-ons unnecessary for weekends and coastal cruising, like inverters, excess solar, complicated sail hardware and whatnot.
