S/V Acrux is a 2000 Maxim 380 Owner’s Version Cruising Catamaran for sale by owner. This Maxim 38 Catamaran was custom ordered from the factory by the original owner as each hull is a master suite. The vessel is well outfitted for full time cruising. This boat has never been chartered and maintained with no expense spared.

The twin 27 horsepower Yanmars with recent top end rebuilds are located aft of the heads isolating them entirely from the staterooms. They push her through the water with little effort. The 16 opening ports and hatches with removable screens make for an extremely well vented and airy interior. She is well equipped with many cruising gear upgrades.

Acrux was comprehensively refitted in December 2012. New standing rigging, dinghy engine, trampolines, engine work, LED lighting, water maker, and cockpit enclosure system. Acrux was then refit again from 2017 to present.Too many upgrades and additions were made to list. We have decided to retire early, go full time and upgrade to a larger cat.

The boat has been privately owned since it was built. I am the third owner. There are a few unique features to this boat. The Bimini is a hard structure that can be walked on. Both hulls have owner’s staterooms. The original owner of the boat is a friend of the owner of Maxim Yachts and had these improvements done custom for him. I do not believe they were repeated.

There is a custom dinghy davit system on the rear swim deck that is a great improvement on the boom dinghy lifting mechanism that is standard with this model. We have lived on this boat every winter and all systems are in working order. The boat is waxed and stainless polished
