Halcyon is a beautiful Privilege Serie 5 that was splashed at the yard in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France in 2016. Privilege Catamarans has a well-deserved reputation of producing some of the finest luxury blue water sailing catamarans in the world – with a focus on exceptional build quality, refined finishes, and solid construction.

Halcyon has only been used for private family sailing trips, never chartered or abused. She has a very functional 3 double cabin and4head layout, with a custom conversion of the starboard aft cabin to a full time office (desk with chair)/workshop.

Halcyon was very well optioned from the factory and has received extensive modifications and updates in the past few years. The refined interiors are finished in a warm and attractive Oak.

Her layout includes a fully equipped U-shaped galley opening onto the salon with a large table and ample seating. The salon has beautiful views all around which offer great light with a comfortable and functional L-shape settee.

The lateral chart table is easily accessible from the cockpit. The large sliding doors allow seamless flow between the salon and cockpit with unobstructed flush deck access between indoor and outdoor spaces. The steering position is well protected with fantastic visibility and all the sail controls run to her electric winches at the helm for easy handling in total security. The cockpit is equipped with a full enclosure for cold or foul weather sailing.

Andrew grew up sailing his father’s Hobie Cat and transitioned that into a long career as a USCG licensed captain in the yachting industry. Working his way up from his college years as a sailing instructor to a position as a private yacht captain aboard a Gunboat 57, he brings with him a comprehensive knowledge of catamarans and the cruising life. His career has taken him from his home waters of Cape Fear, through the waters of the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Central, South American, and the South Pacific Islands. During that time, he worked as a charter yacht captain and a professional delivery skipper specializing in catamarans. Andrew has operated a wide variety of multihulls, everything from old Lagoons to brand new Outremers and most things in between. This experience has given him an extensive first-hand knowledge of many different makes and models and a solid understanding of their various strengths and weaknesses.
