S/V Mokalau is a 1993 Prout Snowgoose Elite 37 catamaran, for sale by owner. She brought our family of 4 safely and happily from the Caribbean to French Polynesia. Every great adventure has an end, and we have now to go back to our land jobs and schools.

This Snowgoose is a bluewater ready catamaran, known for its sturdiness, well taken care of, with 3 cabins (one head), a big bathroom, open space, plenty of storage compartments and everything needed to live off the grid, be it on ocean passages or comfortable anchorages, ready for her next owners.

The Prout Snowgoose 37 Elite is basically the same as the renowned Snowgoose 37 but with a wider beam by 1 foot, 2″ more draft, 5″ taller mast, and a few kilograms heavier displacement.

Prout’s Snowgoose 37 is the definitive cat. The boat which quite simply put multi-hulls on the map. They are considered the safest, most comfortable and easy-to-handle cruising boats in the world. What makes the Snowgoose so special is that they offer good all around performance, an excellent safety record, and they hold their value. These catamaran’s look nice, are very sea kindly in storm conditions. Most have a propeller which can be raised when sailing, and an outdrive leg which can be steered with your foot.

Chosen as #2 of the top nine cruising boats of all time by Cruising World Magazine, the Prout Snowgoose 37 is an “affordable” blue water catamaran. The words “affordable” and “Blue Water” are not an oxymoron with this excellent design. The fact that so many Prout Catamarans are successfully cruising the world speaks for itself.

With a displacement of 5500 kg, the Snowgoose 37 Elite is not, by any means a lightweight. The hulls are solid GRP below the waterline and cored from the waterline north. The bridgedeck is solid, and although this adds weight it also provides rigidity between the hulls that a single crossbar can’t match. While most cats rely almost entirely on modular construction, the Snowgoose 37 is built more traditionally with bulkheads and furniture facings securely tabbed to the hull.

Mokalau comes with an abundance of tools and spare parts. Some accessories can be included depending on price negotiations, such as MOB Personal beacon, Garmin InReach, stand up paddle, brand new Fatboy, 4 spare service batteries 12V, GETAC tablet, etc. Contact us for details!

Available in Tahiti or surroundings from the 1st of August.
