A hands-on tour of a cruising catamaran built for long stays at anchor — twin engine rooms, electric winches and berths in every hull.
There is no music, no drone footage and no script to this tour — just the owner walking stem to stern through S/V Swish, a 1996 Voyage 47 Mayotte, pointing out what matters to someone who actually plans to live aboard.
Starting aft
The walkthrough begins at the stern with the first engine room, where the hot water heater and a bank of batteries live. Useful storage sits under the deck, and there are showers in either hull aft. The second engine room, tucked in behind, houses the generator. It is a practical introduction that tells you a lot about this layout: systems split across two hulls, with room to get at them.

On deck
Forward, the tour pauses over ground tackle — 150 feet of chain, a spare, and what the owner describes as “lots of anchors.” Electric winches appear at both ends of the boat, including a forward electric winch that can be pressed into service for halyards or for hoisting the dinghy, which has its own extension boom. Jerry jugs, fuel tanks and propane are stowed in dedicated lockers, and solar panels supplement the charging picture. The owner also notes the windows date from 2008 or later.
The cockpit is large, with instruments, radar, a pair of chart plotters and switches for the windlass and forward winch to hand. Netting forward completes the picture — and yes, the duct tape on the stanchions is explained: it is there for a young puppy, who makes a cameo.
Belowdecks
Inside, the main salon is served by a proper chart table. The starboard hull offers an aft cabin with head and queen-size berth, plus storage under the bench seating; a single “captain’s berth” that has become a garage; and a forward stateroom with hanging and general lockers and a forward head, where storage hides behind the mirror. Each room has a couple of fans and opening ports with covers, so they can stay open at anchor in the rain. The port hull is essentially the same, with the galley and its refrigerator and new stove.
