At 40 feet with a 21-foot beam, the Catspace is the smaller Bali in the lineup, but the tour spends most of its time showing how little the interior gives up.
One space, indoors and out
The headline feature is Bali’s signature garage door, which lifts to merge the saloon and cockpit into a single entertaining area. The Catspace doesn’t use the fully open cockpit found on larger Balis, so the boat instead gets large opening windows on either side. As the host demonstrates, the layout works in both directions: drop the door and close the windows in bad weather and you still have a genuinely large living space to eat dinner in; open everything up when the sun returns and the breeze runs straight through.
Inside, a lounge seats about four, and the dining table is sized for around eight in comfort. Bali’s oversized refrigerator and separate freezer get a specific callout — the kind of galley storage that makes provisioning for extended cruising feel less like camping. The galley itself has a three-burner stove and sink, with plenty of open floor to cook and socialize at the same time.
Inside helm, then up top
The interior helm station is set up with a 12-volt panel, Vectron system, genset controls, chart plotter and autopilot, with good sightlines out the forward windows and easy conversation with everyone in the saloon. Beside it, a large opening window replaces the side door found on bigger Balis — and doubles as a pass-through for drinks and hors d’oeuvres out to the foredeck.
That solid foredeck is one of the boat’s most distinctive assets: two tables, seating the host reckons will take at least a dozen people, an anchor locker forward and storage to either side. The flybridge sits high enough to see all four corners of the boat from the wheel, with two seats, a sunpad behind, and winches, reefing lines and main halyard all led to hand — the practical argument for shorthanded sailing.
