Bali's newest 52-footer borrows the flagship's rooftop lounge, solid foredeck and tilting door — and offers up to six cabins with six dry heads.
Fresh off a busy Miami show, the team behind Bali were candid about where the new Bali 5.2 comes from: the larger 5.8. That model, they say, drew enormous attention and was considered the best boat the yard had built at its size — so the decision was made to replicate its design language in a more attainable footprint. “All what you have liked on the Bali 5.8, you will find it on the more reasonable size,” as one spokesperson put it in the walkthrough.
In practice that means the signature Bali features carry over more or less intact: the rooftop terrace and flybridge, the solid foredeck instead of trampolines, and the now-famous tilting garage-style door at the aft end of the saloon that opens the interior straight through to the cockpit.

Layouts for owners and for charter
The flexibility is where the 5.2 makes its strongest case. The video explains the boat is available in three, four, five and up to six cabins, plus crew quarters in the forepeaks. Notably, the six-cabin version is arranged with six dry heads — a configuration the builder highlights as important for the charter market. At the other end of the spectrum, the boat can be specified with one large owner’s hull. As the presenter notes, few boats this size offer so many smart layout options within the Bali concept.
That breadth is deliberate. The 5.2 is pitched as a family cruiser, a blue-water boat for couples, and — if you want it to — a vessel that can generate income to offset the cost of ownership.
A real sailing boat
For all the emphasis on volume and living space, the team is keen to stress performance. The 5.2 has been designed with an overlapping genoa — a generous headsail intended to keep the boat quick on the water. Beyond the rig, they point to Bali’s place in the Catana Group and the structural DNA that comes with it: Balis are traditionally very stiff, with little flex, in part because the tilting door demands it. And, as the video puts it, stiffness equals performance and windward ability.

Construction quality and interior finishes get repeated mention as a step up — “next level,” in the words of the walkthrough, with what they describe as a genuine wow factor. The US premiere was slated for Annapolis, where the builder and dealer team planned to feature the boat with availability to discuss.
Where the market sits
The 5.2 is still very new to the brokerage landscape. For context, here is what YachtSite currently shows for the model.
| Active Bali 5.2 listings | 2 |
|---|---|
| Asking range | $965,000 – $1,749,000 |
| Median asking | $1,357,000 |
This particular example, S/V Bali 5.2, is a 2026 model listed at 52 feet and offered through Eric Macklin. Buyers weighing a six-cabin charter build against a single-owner-hull cruiser will find the same platform underneath either choice.
