- She began her life on the US mainland, based out of Fort Lauderdale, before her current owner brought her south to the Caribbean
- In 2019, NINA was delivered from Florida to the British Virgin Islands and onward to the US Virgin Islands, where she was re-registered in the USVI
- Because the voyage technically took her outside US waters, a 1.5% USVI import duty was paid upon re-entry that year, with the import and duty receipt retained in the owner's files
- She has been based and cruised primarily in the USVI ever since
- Rather than simply maintaining a twenty-year-old vessel, her owner approached NINA as a long-term project, systematically rebuilding and upgrading nearly every core system over six years of ownership, including the electrical system, helm and electronics, engines and structure
