Rhatcat is an Morrelli and Melvin 46 design catamaran for sale by owner. She is a liveaboard / cruiser with 26’ beam (wider is better). Built with the cruising couple in mind that can easily be singlehanded.
Yacht designers Morrelli and Melvin are known for performance catamarans. Rhatcat is typical, reaching 17 knots plus. I’ve experienced that 3 times and it wanted to pick up even more. I’m not a racer, so I had to spill the wind! Well constructed and designed!
I’ve been 23 yrs aboard and sailed 15 yrs in the Caribbean, newly back in the States. The wife wants to be land based now and at the young age that I am (72) I guess it’s time, and I’m building a new house, so the boat has to go! That’s the reason for selling. I’ve been boating for the best of 38 – 40 yrs. (It’s time).
